In order to travel to Russian Federation, people of many nationalities are required to obtain a visa.
There are several types of visa. Among them, electronic visas that can be applied for over the internet are referred to as ''e-Visas''.

e-Visa is valid for 30 days from the date of grant. Visitors are able to stay up to 8 days, and no extension accepted.
An e-Visa is valid for a single entry only.

*Length of stay is counted by a date, not time. (i.g. If entry is on August 1st 12:00, you are to leave Russia by August 8th 23:59. NOT August 9th 11:59.)

Required documents for an e-Visa application are as follows.

- Passport*¹
- Email Address
- Credit card or Paypal account
- Image data of ID photo*²

*¹The passport must leave at least two blank pages facing for stamps. The validity of the passport must be of at least 6 months from the date of application.

Requirements of photos are as follows;

- Must be taken within 6 months
- JPEG format
- 2MB at max
- 3.5cm * 4.5cm (1 3/8” X 1 3/4”)
- 450px * 600px
- In colored
- No shadows, lines, or refrect
- No hats, and glasses unless you must wear them for religious reasons
- The face must be square to the camera (The nose must position on the direction line)
- With neutral face expression (Eyes opened, lips closed)
- Eyes must not be covered by hair
- Head to chest shown clearly
- No filters

Allowed purposes of the trip with e-Visa are as follows;

- Tourist
- Business
- Cultural Relations
- Sport Relations
- Scientific-technical Relations

An e-Visa can only be used for an entry through certain checkpoints.*¹
Visitors must remain in a district they entered. Visitors may not move over different districts.

- Primorsky Krai
- Kamchatka Krai
- Amur Region
- Khabarovsk Krai
- Sakhalin Oblast
- Chukotka Autonomous Okrug
- Republic of Buryatia
- Zabaykalsky Krai

Northwestern Federal District

- Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast

After receiving the e-Visa, you must follow the usage rules listed in the following items.
If you do not follow these usage rules, you may be denied entry to Russian Federation Federation or punished under the laws of the Country.

(1) Enter and leave through designated checkpoint.
(2) Do not exceed the length of stay or maximum number of entries to the country.
(3) Do not use your trip for a purpose other than the purpose specified.
(4) Do not enter any areas other than designated.
(5) Comply with the laws of Russian Federation during your stay.

e-Visa must be applied 6 - 20 days before counting form the date of entry.
Please make sure to apply as soon as possible as the notification of the result may not complete before the travel for last-minute applications.

The e-Visa inspection will be conducted by the government of Russian Federation Federation.
The inspection time is 5 days at maximum. *¹

*¹ It could take longer than promised in case of technical errors, Russian Federation holidays, and Seasonal issues.

The Applicant will be notified by email as soon as the government of Russian Federation Federation completes its inspection.
If the application passes the inspection, an e-Visa will be issued. Please print a copy of the e-Visa on A4 paper (black and white may be used) and bring it with you.

Please be sure to present following documents that are required to undergo an immigration inspection.
Also, an traveler has to have a valid medical insurance during a stay in Russian Federation Federation.
